The purpose of this ongoing project is to capture creatives of color in their purest essence. An individual’s environment can have a huge impact on the work that is performed and the space itself can tell a story. The setup, bits of memorabilia, inspirational cuttings or hangings, all add to the ambience that spurs the creative process.
In an effort to explore what constitutes a creative space, I seek to examine the individuality that is highlighted through materials and tools that surround the artistic pursuits. What are the essential elements that fill the surroundings and how this physicality interacts and stimulates their mind and soul to create. A uniquely individualistic experience, I aim to bring the viewers into these spaces through visual storytelling and share the creative process in which the artist is in harmony with their environment.
